Waitlist opening soon
A shop does not get a quiet month to switch systems
Retail has a peak and everything else is preparation for it. Changing the system that holds your stock and orders is disruptive at the best of times, so Mercantir runs against real movements at our own risk first. When the form opens it will ask for an email address and roughly what you sell.
A reference catalogue first
Real orders, real stock, real product data — where being wrong costs us rather than your season.
A few retailers next
Chosen for fit, set up with help, and watched through a full season rather than a demo.
Come back
The blog carries what is being built and which parts of the agent story do not exist yet.
Why there is nothing to fill in
Because a retailer cannot run two systems through a busy period while somebody works out the edge cases. If the stock figure is wrong, you either oversell and disappoint a customer or hold back inventory you could have sold, and both cost more than the software.
What the waitlist will be for
One field, an email address, and optionally what you sell and through how many channels — because the first retailers will be chosen for fit, and for some the honest answer will be that their current setup is fine and the problem is somewhere else.
What the first conversation will cover
How accurate your stock figure actually is, how many places an order can arrive from, and what happens to a return. That last one usually reveals more about the state of a retail business than any report, because returns touch stock, finance, the customer record and somebody’s patience all at once.
In the meantime
The blog carries the reasoning: why one question needs four systems, why product data written for a page cannot answer a question, what agentic commerce would actually need before it works, why returns are the part nobody models, and why the storefront was never the moat.
No form, no data collected, no sales calls — just work in progress.
